On March 3, the Japan Foundation, led by its chairwoman Abe Akie, the wife of the Former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, in collaboration with representatives from Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa, organized the first Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange event aimed at fostering future relations.
The event was held to promote cultural exchange, support the community, and aid local residents.
As part of the event, the Japan Foundation donated dozens of wheelchairs to individuals with disabilities at three organizations: The Danang City Social Welfare Centre, the Da Nang City Association for People with Disabilities, and the Lien Chieu District Association for People with Disabilities.
Mr. Yamada Takio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, emphasized that the donated wheelchairs symbolize the heartfelt connection between the citizens of Japan and Vietnam.
"The key element sustaining the strong relationship between our two nations is the bond between people, the connection of hearts, and mutual support across any era," remarked Mr. Yamada Takio.
Mrs. Abe Akie expressed her admiration for Vietnam's rapid development in recent years: "I hope that as the country continues to grow, we can also recognize the importance of preserving values such as customs and culture. I believe a truly developed and happy nation is one where every citizen aspires for peace not only for their own country but also for the world," Mrs. Abe Akie shared.
